IMG0058.jpg (58398 bytes)As I inform the people that request a design. The most important factor is not the width, but the length, this is the most important item to a great free flight finch aviary. This aviary is only 3 feet wide but 18 feet long. Also in this photo you can see how the concrete floor is shaped so the wash out water from the garden hose runs down into a drain with a filter then into the rose garden.

IMG0059.jpg (52233 bytes)This photo shows the upper end of this aviary with a fountain for the birds to take their baths, and peoples pleasure in listening to the sounds of running water. Clean the fountain with the water pressure from the garden hose. The aviary entry door is just to the right of the fiberglass fountain.

IMG0064.jpg (47979 bytes)This photo shows the length, plus the red constant supply drinking water dish. Also feeders that can be filled so one can take trips without fear that our earth angels are taking care of and happy.

IMG0062.jpg (52890 bytes)IMG0063.jpg (50670 bytes)These photos show some of the lucky inhabitants of this neat off the deck free flight aviary. Red cheek cordon blue finches and canaries for their great song. Their is no safety catch on this aviary, because its not needed. When the entry door is approached the finches will simply fly to the other end. Notice from the date on the film its is a warm June central California day.

IMG0066.jpg (45182 bytes)IMG0067.jpg (42926 bytes)Five months later this wonderful couple who enjoy this great communication with nature outdoors sitting on their deck, decided that they wanted to enclose with demountable folding redwood and acrylic plastic doors. As the viewing front of the aviary faced the northeast and sometimes cold nighttime prevailing  winds. (lucky birds)
